Hsieh Fu Hua
Mr Hsieh Fu Hua was appointed to the Board on 11 June 2014.
Mr Hsieh is Chairman of United Overseas Bank and Tiger Airways Holdings and a board member of GIC Private Limited. He is also currently an adviser to PrimePartners Group which he co-founded. Mr Hsieh also serves on the boards of a number of non-profit organisations and chairs the National Gallery Singapore, National Council of Social Service, and the Stewardship and Corporate Governance Centre.
Mr. Hsieh was previously Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Exchange and a board member of Temasek Holdings and ICAP, a UK listed company.
Mr. Hsieh graduated from the University of Singapore (now known as National University of Singapore) with a degree in Business Administration.
Mr Hans-Peter Gerhardt was appointed to the Board on 1 February 2011.
Mr Gerhardt currently also serves as Non-Executive Director at Enstar Group Ltd and Tokio Millennium Re AG, where he is respectively the Chairman of Underwriting Committee and member of Finance, Audit and Remuneration committees.
Mr Gerhardt was Group Chief Executive and Executive Director of ACR Capital Holdings and Asia Capital Re. He was also formerly Chief Executive Officer and founding member of Paris Re, which was acquired by Partner Re in 2009. He also held the position of Chief Executive Officer of AXA Re and served as Chairman of AXA Liabilities Managers (run-off operations). He was previously the Non-Executive Director at Brit Insurance Holdings, PLC, and Vice-Chairman of the board of General Cologne Re as well as a member of the General Re group’s Executive Committee. Mr Gerhardt was also Chairman of Faraday and Europa Re.
Mr Gerhardt holds a German Diploma (MBA equivalent) in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Hannover, Germany.
Raja Arshad Uda
Raja Arshad Uda was appointed to the Board on 28 November 2006.
Raja Arshad Uda is Chairman of Maxis Berhad, Ekuiti Nasional Berhad, Yayasan Raja Muda Selangor and Yayasan Amir. He is also a Director of Khazanah Nasional Berhad and Yayasan DayaDiri, and Chancellor of the University of Selangor, Malaysia.
Raja Arshad Uda is the former Executive Chairman and Senior Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Malaysia, a former Chairman of the PwC Asia 7 Leadership Team and a Member of the PwC Global Leadership Team. His other roles included memberships in the PwC Global International Financial Reporting Standards Board and the Standards Advisory Council of the International Accounting Standards Board.
Raja Arshad Uda is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants where he served on its Council for 24 years, including three years as President.
Mr John Thomson was appointed to the Board on 2 February 2012.
Mr Thomson is a Partner at 3i and heads its Southeast Asia business. At 3i, he has led a number of investments in sectors including oil and gas, financial and business services, media and healthcare. In addition to Southeast Asia, Mr Thomson also has investment responsibilities in China and India.
Prior to joining 3i, Mr Thomson spent seven years with Coats Viyella plc.
Mr Thomson holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physiology from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK.
Gan Chee Yen
Mr Gan Chee Yen was appointed to the Board on 2 February 2011.
Mr Gan is the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Fullerton Financial Holdings Pte. Ltd. He is also a Non-Executive Director of ST Asset Management and a member of the Board of Commissioners of Bank Danamon Indonesia.
Mr Gan was formerly the Co-Chief Investment Officer and Senior Managing Director of Special Projects at Temasek International Pte. Ltd. He was also previously Director of Finance at Singapore Technologies Pte Ltd and Senior Manager of Finance at Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd.
Mr Gan is a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from the National University of Singapore and attended the Harvard’s Program for Management Development.
Andrew S. Hawkyard
Mr Andrew S. Hawkyard was appointed to the Board on 28 November 2006.
Mr Hawkyard is the Chief Operating Officer of Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia and a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley. His portfolio covers the territories of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
Mr Hawkyard was previously a Director of Landmark Asset Management, Jinbang Steel and CTCI as well as an observer to the board of ITest Ltd and eAccess Ltd. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr Hawkyard was with the Merchant Banking and Investment Banking divisions of Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette in Hong Kong SAR and New York, US.
Mr Hawkyard received a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
Law Song Keng
Mr Law Song Keng was appointed to the Board on 27 June 2012.
Mr Law is a director of Great Eastern Holdings Limited, IFS Capital Limited and ECICS Limited.
Mr Law was formerly the Managing Director and CEO of Overseas Assurance Corporation Ltd (OAC) and a member of the Central Provident Fund Board. He also served as Director of the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore and the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation. Mr Law also held the positions of Insurance Commissioner and Actuary and Deputy Managing Director (Administration and Insurance) at the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Mr Law has also served as Chairman of the Singapore Insurance Institute as well as President of the Singapore Actuarial Society, the Life Insurance Association and the General Insurance Association.
Mr Law holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (First Class Honours) from the University of Singapore and Master of Science in Actuarial Science from the Northeastern University, Boston, US. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, US, and attended the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard University.
Mr Neil Mathison was appointed to the Board on 30 June 2016.
Mr Mathison is the owner and Director of Mathison Consulting Pte Ltd, a management consultancy for (re)insurers in Asia.
Mr Mathison was formerly the Executive Chairman of Aon Benfield Asia where he had also served as Chief Executive Officer following the merger of Aon Re and Benfield in 2008. Prior to that, Mr Mathison lead the East Asian reinsurance broking operations of Benfield and Greig Fester as Managing Director for Asia ex Japan and has worked in the Asian reinsurance industry for over 30 years.
Mr Mathison was Deputy Chairman of the Reinsurance Brokers' Association of Singapore from 1997 to 2015.
Mr Mathison graduated from the University of Southampton, with a Bachelor of Science (Honours). He is also an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK.
Ben Chan Wei Beng
Alternate Director to Raja Arshad Uda
Mr Ben Chan was appointed to the Board on 1 February 2007.
Mr Chan is Executive Director, Investments, of Khazanah Nasional Berhad (Khazanah). Mr Chan has been leading Khazanah’s investments in Greater China since 2005. He currently also leads the coverage of the Philippines, Korea and Vietnam.
Prior to joining Khazanah, Mr Chan was Head of Research at several investment banks covering the China and Southeast Asian markets.
Mr Chan is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with merit) from the University of New South Wales, Australia.
Ian Matthew Lobley
Alternate Director to John Thomson
Mr Ian Lobley was appointed to the Board on 19 August 2014.
Mr Lobley is a Partner at 3i and is responsible for many of the company’s global investments across various sectors. He is also a Director of 3i Infrastructure plc and a member of the 3i Group Investment Committee as well as the BVCA UK and European Capital Committee.
Prior to joining 3i in 1987, Mr Lobley was an engineer at BOC Specialty Gases in the UK.
Mr Lobley holds an Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK.
